Two Door Cinema Club’s First Ever Indiana Show Lights Up Everwise Amphitheater

Everwise Amphitheater | Indianapolis, IN | October 2, 2024

On a quiet Wednesday evening, Everwise Amphitheater was buzzing with anticipation as the crowd amped themselves up for Two Door Cinema Club to take the stage. From start to finish, the night was the perfect amount of energy as fans of all ages took in this experience. Because that is what the night was – not merely just a concert – but an experience. Two Door Cinema Club made their debut in the early 2000s, putting out indie/alternative music that has morphed into a fun, head-banging, synth-pop style. With quite the discography of tunes, the band has a little something for everyone.

Band members Alex Trimble (lead singer), Sam Halliday (lead guitarist), and Kevin Baird (lead bassist), were also joined by Ben Thompson on drums and Andrew Lindsay on keys for their largest US tour yet. The entire evening was filled with special moments as this was the second to last stop for the US leg and their first ever performance in Indiana. You could feel the excitement in the air as fans had clearly been waiting for this moment for a long time. The high-energy set was full of classic TDCC songs like “I Can Talk” and “Undercover Martyn,” so that fans old and new enjoyed the set from start to finish.

Trimble engaged with the crowd in a way that felt natural, sharing his excitement about playing in Indiana for the first time. Although the crowd interaction was kept to a minimum, it was evident that Trimble, along with the rest of the band, were very grateful for their fans and enjoyed spending their evening doing what they love. It was hard to pull your eyes from the stage as Halliday and Baird shredded the guitar and bass, seamlessly bouncing off each other’s energy. The way they interacted with each other made the performance feel alive, while the fun, vibrant lighting only amplified the experience, adding an extra layer of excitement to the whole show.

At the end of the night, all in attendance left energized, yet satisfied with the performance. I am personally not just excited, but also eager for Two Door Cinema Club to come back to the US for future tours. Their ability to create such an immersive and electrifying atmosphere makes them a must-see, and I know I won’t be the only one waiting for their next appearance.
